Teens or adults who are preparing to take a state driver's licensing exam would benefit from checking out the free resources available at driving-tests.org. This site focuses on educating anyone studying to get a driver's license through practice exams. The site is free, with the main goal of setting high standards in driver education to lower the number of teen driver injuries and fatalities. Users don't need to register or provide any personal information.

Driving-Tests.org values partnerships with educational institutions, libraries nationwide and nonprofit organizations such as National Organizations for Youth Safety and the National Safety Council to help reach teens and adults who need to prepare for taking their car, motorcycle or commercial drivers' license test.

How does it work?

Select your state to get state-specific guidance. Each state includes a series of sample tests with questions similar to those offered on the real exam. There is a final test that includes all of the questions. As you take the test, you'll get an explanation every time you make a mistake. You may take as many tests as you want, and repeat as needed – until you are comfortable with all of the questions. This not only helps those who have test anxiety prepare for the real thing, but also helps students gain a greater understanding of driving laws for their state. Basic FAQ's for each state are provided, such as – what age a permit can be requested, what to do to renew a license, etc.

The site also includes safety information for parents including a "Stop Distracted Driving" pledge, as well as the all-new Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Locator, which helps you locate the nearest DMV and gives you specific information on the services offered at each location. The site is also helpful for licensed adults who want to check their skills, renew a license, or who have moved to another state. The site's "New Driver Basics" page provides helpful talking points to guide parents in important discussions leading up to their teens' years behind the wheel. These pages wisely interweave safety topics (like how to prevent/recover from hydroplaning) with the more pragmatic (like a guide to the types and grades of fuel) to keep teens engaged.

Committed to Driver Education and Safety

Driving-Tests.org continues to show their commitment to keeping our roads safe by offering annual $2,500 college/university scholarships and new for 2017, a $2,500 library award.

The $2,500 College Scholarship rewards students for using their creativity to encourage safe driving behaviors and is open to all current high school seniors or undergraduate university students who will still be attending high school or university until July 2018.

The new $2,500 Library Partnership Award is being offered to incentivize libraries to offer the DTO free resources to their patrons. Libraries who sign up for the program between January 1 and May 1, 2017 will be entered to win. One lucky library will be chosen at random after the entry period.
